How to make a corrugated cardboard box

Super Easy 5-Step Process to Make a Corrugated Cardboard Box with a
Paperfox DK-6 Box Maker:

  1. Cut: Trim the corrugated paper to your desired size.
  2. Perforate: To facilitate folding and avoid quality issues from creasing, we recommend perforating the paper.
  3. Slot: Cut narrow recesses along the perforation lines.
  4. Fold: Shape the cut paper into its final box form.
  5. Seal: Secure the box by stapling or gluing the edges.

Creasing, perforating, cutting, kisscutting even in 147cm width.

We have developed a creasing perforating and kisscutting machine with you can crease, perforate or kisscut even 147cm wide sheets.

The robust machine is driven by an industrial gearmotor so you can crease perforate or cut even thick and hard materiale with this machine.

If you don't use the machine, then you can fold down the feeding table to reduce the space needed for the machine.

We built in the machine the circular knives of the Paperfox kisscutting, creasing and paerfoating machines, but we mage some modifications on the knife holders for beeing able to crease, perforate and cut thicker materials.

The machine was designed first of all for manufacturing corrugated paper boxes but you can use it for other purposes.

Box making even simpler

We've manufactured a prototype, which can make welpaper boxes in a simple way.

You can crease or perforate all 4 sides of the wellpaper sheet, cut it like in the following picture and you can stick or staple the box.

In this way you can produce so called "telescope-type boxes" consisting of more than one piece and are characterised by a lid and/or bottom telescoping over the body of the box.

How to make a box?

When we have offered our rotation creasing machines for making boxes, some customer of us has asked that how can they make boxes with our machines.
I am not a packaging expert, but I try to collect some solution for making boxes.

The simpliest box you can make is the following:

Cut an A x B sized peace from a cardboard or from corrugated paper and crease it in distance "E" from the sides. Creasing is a line made by pressing the paper, cardboard or corrugated paper before folding. You can make this creasing even with a not sharp knife beside a ruler, or you can use creasing machines.

http://www.paperfox.eu/creasing_perforating.html
If you use the same sized card for the top and bottom part of the box, then the "E" should be at the top part slightly smaller than at the bottom part.

You can make the cut-outs with simple scissors, with knife or you can use a table saw as in the picture below.

You can use the table saw for cutting the corrugated paper sheets as well. (Be careful, table saws are dangerous machines)
You can make in this way boxes like in the picture bellow:

In this boxes the cut-outs was made by scissors.
You can make this cut-outs with a slotter.

You can make the whole box from one sheet if you cut the shape bellow:

You can make in this way boxes like in the following picture:

Unfortunately you can't make more complicated boxes in this simple way.

For this box you should use a die cutting form like in the following picture.

This box was manufactured with the Paperfox H-1 cylinder die cutter ( http://www.paperfox.eu/paperfox_h-1_rotary_die_cutting_machine.html ) with a special, bigger machine table.

You can mount easily a big table on the Paperfox H-1 die cutter

If you want to make big boxes with the Paperfox H-1 cylinder die cutter, now you can do it easier.

To mount an up to 2 meter long table and the table supporting elements you need only a screw driver.

If you don't need such a big table then you can remove it easily and you can replace it with a normal size table. You can reduce the space need of this machine in this way.
